Emilyisms....

Today at Emily's preschool, they had "Muffins with Mom" to honor the moms before Mother's Day. I'm guessing that the "muffins" must be a traditional thing because they didn't have any muffins at all. They did have plenty of other yummy treats like cake, brownies, and cookies, so I'm not complaining, by any means!

On the way home, Emily decided we needed to have a "serious" conversation. She said, "Mom, when I turn four, will I still be a kid?"

I told her that she would always be my kid. That wasn't what she was looking for, so she asked again, "But when I turn four, will I still be a kid." So, I tried again and said, "You will be a kid until you're 18."

She said, "OK. So when I'm 18 then I will have my own babies and my own family?"

I told her that I hoped she would wait a little longer to have her own babies and family and she said, "But mom, it's not your choice!"

How did my daughter get to be so old?? I have a feeling the teen years are going to be VERY interesting!
