She did it!

I am so far behind on blogging. I've got a photo card full of pictures from spring break (and even before that) and just haven't blogged them yet.

I wanted to post pictures from Emily after she passed her float test on Thursday. We are so proud of her!

At the place where we have been doing swimming lessons, kids between the ages of 3 and 5 have to pass three five minute "float tests." They throw them into the water fully clothes (there are different clothing requirements for each test) and they have to be able to get to a back floating position independently, float for five minutes, and then make it to the side of the pool and get out. During this time, the instructor is in the pool, but they can't have any adult intervention unless they are struggling to get to a floating position (and in that case, they don't pass).

*On the first test, they have to wear shorts, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes.

*On the second test, they have to wear denim shorts, a shirt, socks, and tennis shoes.

*On the third test, they have to wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, socks, and tennis shoes.

It was nerve wracking to sit there and watch her, but she did great!

Here's a picture of her during her first float test. I didn't take pictures during the other two because I didn't want to distract her.

She is beaming just as I thought she would be. Tell her that Grandma White is so very happy for her.
