End of year soccer party

Today was Emily's last soccer game and her end of year soccer party. The highlight of the whole day was that she got a trophy. The whole way home, she held on to that thing like it was the best thing she had ever gotten and she kept saying, "I can't believe I got a trophy." She has been carrying it around all day and has already told us several times that she wants to sleep with it tonight.
There's nothing like cupcakes with tons of frosting to make a party. These had mounds of green frosting and were decorated like a soccer field with a ring on top in the shape of a soccer ball. Of course, most of the girls sat and licked the frosting off and then said they were done!

The girls also had pizza. There's nothing like pizza and cupcakes to make a party!

Here's Emily posing for the camera. Today was actually a "cold" day by Texas standards and very windy. Because it came on so suddenly, and we've had such nice temperatures for so long, we were all freezing even though we were bundled up.

The soccer party was held at an elementary school where the girls had practice each week. Afterward, every played on the playground for awhile.

Jacob was a little bit hesitant at first, but before we knew it, he was running around with all of the "big" kids. He couldn't get enough of the slides!

Here's Jacob on the "big" slide. He watched Emily go down a few times and then decided to try it himself. Once he did, he was hooked.

Emily loves to climb up and do the monkey bars.

We were hoping that the kids would be so worn out from running around for so long that they would take great naps when we got home, but it was wishful thinking on our part!

I love doing the sports stuff with the kids. It's so much fun. I didn't get the boys registered in time for fall so I'll have to wait until after Christmas. I guess it's good to have a break too. I love the first picture where her face is all red. Did she just get done playing?

Imagine! An end of the season soccer party OUTSIDE! Ours was last week after the last game. It was pouring rain and all the boys went home after the game and took hot showers before they came to the INDOOR party.
